Garmin Nuvi 260W Portable GPS features
When I decided to buy my GPS navigator I started doing some research and did little bit of homework before buying and I decided on Garmin Nuvi 260w. One thing I learned was to make sure that the GPS unit has text to speech feature. If you don't have this feature, the unit will tell you that your turn is approaching but does not give you the name of the street. The text to speech feature will speak the name of the street for you. With this feature you can listen without looking at the screen.
With Garmin Nuvi 260w Portable GPS you are able to see very clearly and read very easy because it has a wide screen. This device starts up very fast, in about thirty seconds and it is very easy to use. The operating instructions are ordinarily very clear, but it is worth glancing at the green bar at the top of the screen to see the full instruction.
The map with the graphics can often clear up confusion. The other great thing about the map is it labels upcoming streets so you are not peering at street signs.
If the next turn is coming up very quickly, the Nuvi will give you the next instruction immediately. This unit completes route calculation very fast and within 20 seconds or less.
Here is a brief summary of the Nuvi 260w features and each one of them is very important and useful. This GPS unit is preloaded with City Navigator North America NT. A wide 4.3 inch touchscreen which makes it easy to read and displays with 2D/3D mapping. It will give you directions turn-by-turn with voice guidance and text to speech. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery makes it convenient for you if you are driving or for navigation by foot. It also includes JPED picture viewer, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator, world travel clock with time zone and many more.

For a GPS unit, do you think you need the 4.3 inch widescreen or is the 3.5 pretty good.?
I want to get the Garmin Nuvi 260 but I don't know if I should spend the extra $45 for hte 260w which has the widescreen? Like with TV's bigger is better but for those of you who have GPS systems, do you think bigger is better for a GPS system?
Also, how many of you like having bluetooth in your GPS? I personally want to pass on it.
